Overview

Stella Maris Resort Club and Marina on Long Island in the Bahamas Bahamas is an intimate plantation-style out island hotel. It is more than a hotel; it provides the perfect Bahamas resort getaway for leisure travelers, family vacationers, active water sportsmen. Surrounded by swaying palm trees and gentle breezes, the Stella Maris hotel and bungalows allow you to discover timeless leisure in a memorable setting.

Accommodations

More than a hotel, Stella Maris offers a wide range of tropical accommodations, from panoramic ocean-view rooms to 4-bedroom water front and beach front Bahamas bungalows, some even with private pool.  Whether you choose a tropical guest room, bungalow, cottage or villa, you can take advantage of the many amenities just footsteps from your ocean-view room. Each room at the resort is tropically furnished, some king, some two double beds. Air conditioning, ceiling fans, refrigerator, coffee maker are standard. There is a full bathroom with shower in tub, hairdryer and bath accessories. There are 6 to 8 hotel rooms per building. All hotel rooms have ocean views, with balcony or terrace. In addition to these “hotel style” rooms there are cottages and villas available. With this beautiful setting and luxurious accommodations come breakfast, lunch and dinner all beautifully and tropically presented for your dining pleasure.

Fishing

The fishing here offers hundreds of locations and depths both on the ocean and lee sides of the island for a variety of boats and to accommodate small or larger groups. Fishermen enjoy Stella Maris fishing year round due to the presence of a major current, the North Equatorial Current. The current originates in the Canary Islands and washes the shores of Long Island, bringing with it, huge schools of Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Rainbow Runners, both Black and Yellow Fin Tuna, Dolphin and Wahoo. The waters around Stella Maris Bahamas Fishing Resort are a fly fisherman's paradise, with average bonefish catches of 15-20a day at 2-12 pounds. Fishing can be  with our professional guides or on your own in our nearby bay !

The Boats and guides depart from the Stella Maris Marina.  The guides can provide Penn Graphite rods and spin casting reels, or fly fishing, Lamson or Penn Reels and Rods. Catch and release/non-barbed hooked fishing .

Getting There

Major airlines provide connections from the US mainland to and from Nassau. From Nassau there are several ways to get to Long Island and Stella Maris. Call for details.

Activities

In addition to great fishing, there is scuba diving, snorkeling, explore the Island with complimentary bicycles, small sail boats, 3 Pools, 8 Beaches, Ping Pong, and  a Recreation/Video Room. You may also book and Eco tour through the Lodge.
