Fishing the Alumine and Pulmari Rivers along with their tributaries and the area’s spring creeks is an amazing angling experience. Northern Rivers is located outside the small town of Alumine, the jumping off point for this range of waters and fishing. The prolific hatches in the area make the trout search the surface, so dry fly fishing can be spectacular. Sometimes streamer fishing and hopper/dropper action can be seen as well. Wading is emphasized but float fishing from Mackenzie-style drift boats is available. Whether you want to fish smaller waters for trout or float the Alumine River casting hoppers at the tree-lined banks, the Northern Rivers angling program can be planned to fit your preferred fishing style.
You will take an overnight flight into Buenos Aires then continue on to Chapelco Airport. Northern Rivers’ Hotel Piedra Pintada is two hours north from Chapelco Airport (San Martin de los Andes) and four and a half hours west of the city of Neuquen.
