Cape Santa Maria is located on Long Island in the Bahamas. It is a tropical oasis nestled on Long Island in the South Bahamas. The resort is comprised of twenty  beach-front bungalows and a few beautiful new villas, each just steps from your own secluded white sand beach. Life at the resort is elegant yet relaxed. Wake up to the sounds of gentle surf and trade winds and plan another day in paradise. Along with all this is the fishing available in the Bahamas. There is Bone fishing, Marlin, Wahoo, Tuna, Dorado, Shark, Sailfish, Grouper, Amberjack, Tuna and Snapper and MORE.

Guests can enjoy eating their catch (except bonefish as they are catch and release). Guests can cook their catch in their villa, or for a fee, the resort chefs can prepare your fish for lunch or dinner

Fishing

The waters off Long Island have some of the Bahamas’ finest saltwater fishing. Many kinds of sport fish are caught year round. Whether you wade out to the shallow tidal flats or take a deep sea expedition, the fishing at Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort will make you a happy angler. You can spend hours casting into schools of Bonefish visible below. the strongest fighting fish of their size in the world. For a deep sea adventure, excursions are available with experienced, professional guides. Using ballyhoo, small baitfish and feather hoochies, you’ll fish for trophy-sized beauties like White and Blue Marlin, Wahoo, Kingfish, Tuna, Shark, Dorado and Sailfish. Truly an unbelievable fishing experience! If you want to Reef fish, an excursion will put you where the sport ‘bottom fish’ are. From a comfortable cruiser, you’ll see vast coral and rock reefs as your bait tempts Grouper, Yellowtail Snapper, Jacks, Amberjacks, King Mackerel, Tuna and Barracuda.

Experienced or not you cannot help but love the fishing with the experienced guides taking a lot of the guess work out of the fishing.

All fishing trips include your bait, tackle, and gear — all you need to do is fish!

Getting There

There are direct flights to Nassau from many U.S. and Canadian Airports. From Nassau take Southern Air (13 flights a week) to Stella Maris airport only a short distance to Cape Santa Maria

Or travel to Georgetown on Exuma Island. From there you would take a boat (about 15 minutes) to Cape Santa Maria.

Nassau International Airport is the Bahamas’ major air hub, served by many international airlines.
