Los Cabos, Mexico is at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula; it offers a wide range of opportunities, including world-class accommodations, some of the very best golf courses "south of the border," an internationally-known blue-water angling. The fertile blue waters boast outstanding striped marlin in addition this fishery is best enjoyed by clients looking more than just one species.


Guests can be accommodated in spacious beach front condominiums and hotels. There are a number of outstanding resort properties throughout the Los Cabos area. The Hotel Finisterra, located in walking distance to the town of Cabo San Lucas and the marina is a favorite.


Terry and Wendy Gunn own Baja Anglers, a full-service fishing operation at the Cabo Marina; they cater to light-tackle, conventional gear and fly fishing. Grant Hartman, from Montana, has made Cabo his home, and is their head guide. Baja has three center-console 26-ft Glacier Bay catamarans designed for soft, safe, riding, and for comfortable fishing. Experienced skippers and crews will spot fish and put anglers in casting range. They will certainly take their guests after marlin, but the primary focus is on the many other exciting fish available where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez. Roosterfish, tuna, dorado, snapper, wahoo, jacks and sierra mackerel are among the species to be found.

A second option is Pisces Sportfishing Fleet, they have an experienced and proven and fishing operation offering  more traditional marlin-oriented angling with heavier conventional tackle. Hey have a  large fleet of boats including three 28-ft Uni-flights, six 31 ft-35ft  Bertrams, and five larger boats (40-86 ft).  These are available for private day or overnight charters. With experienced captains and crews, meticulously maintained boats, and a depth of knowledge of fishing the area, Pisces Sportfishing Fleet is the best offshore fishing fleet on the Baja Peninsula.

Getting There

Fly by international commercial air to San Jose del Cabo. From the airport Cabo San Lucas is about 20 miles south. A transfer can be arranged.
