Whether you are a fly fishing expert or prefer the cast spinners, Selwyn Lake offers anglers three exciting gamefish - Northern Pike, Lake Trout and Arctic Grayling. The Selwyn Lake record is a 56 pound Lake Trout.                                                                In June - Northern Pike spawn and are very active while Lake Trout are feeding in shallow water along reefs and rocky shorelines. Typical daily catches are approximately 20 to 40 fish per guest per day, at random weights topping out at 20 to 32lbs.In July - Arctic Grayling activity picks up the end of July and into August. Northern Pike are brisk in early July, averaging 15 to 30 per guest per day. During July and into August the Northern Pike fishing is constant. Lake Trout are slow in early July as they move from shallow to deeper water throughout the month. By the end of July, Lake Trout begin to find their summer depth and catch ratios are approximately 20 fish per guest per day.

In August, Arctic Grayling are still active and fishing remains steady. The Northern Pike fishing tapers down, but their size increases as they feed in preparation for the winter.
