Overview

Estancia Tipiliuke is a 48,000 acre (ranch) Cerro de los Pinos was founded in 1909 by the grandfather of the present owners. It is part of this estancia which is one of the first organized ranches in Northern Patagonia. It is the foot of the Andes Mountain chain where guests enjoy activities tailored to their wants. Authentic refined cuisine and knowledgeable personal service, with comfortable accommodations, even its own chapel, set the stage for an enjoyable and memorable trip.  Tipiliuke is set between the Chimehuín and Quilquihue rivers, known worldwide for their amazingly clear waters and exceptional trout fishing. This is also a select spot for viewing wildlife and fauna.

Accommodations

The Estancia lodge, boasts 9 bedrooms, and will take a maximum of 18 guests. There is also available on the property a house called "Mayal" that can be reserved as a single unit offering 3 bedrooms with private bathrooms and 2 additional bedrooms which share a bath. The Lodge offers a living room, a dining room and a cozy bar. Wi-fi is available in rooms and common areas as well as the lodge surrounding area. During summer time guests enjoy outside lunch surrounded by a seemingly endless variety of mature trees.

Getting There

There are international overnight flights to Buenos Aires from many major airports in the U.S. From there, you will take a flight from Aeroparque (BA local airport), a 2 hour flight to San Martín de los Andes, where you will be received and driven 10 Minutes to the ranch. OR Tipiliuke can be reached from Bariloche by car (3 hours drive) or by air (30 minutes flight - only private flights for the Bariloche / Chapelco leg of the trip).

Fishing

Fly fishing for rainbow and brown trout is the main activity in summer and fall months, as the property stretches 9 miles along the Chimehuín river and 4.35 miles along the Quilquihue river.  Both known worldwide for the trout and the magnificent, crystaline waters. Fly fishing anglers will have an unforgettable stay fishing these waters with the  specialized guides, vehicles, and outdoor lunches. The season is November through May. .

Activities

Tipiliuke is a select spot for * wildlife and flora observation in the midst of  magical wooded areas with a whispering, glimmering stream nearby. There are about 200 different species of trees from all over the world, acquired and planted during the three generations that the family has owned this haven. And, since it is a working ranch (estancia) with 4.000 head of cattle, plus horses, *guests can take part horse and cattle activities, if they so choose. *Panoramic and unique riding trips take guests to the nearby mountains and rivers for a few hours or for a whole day, including a noon picnic and a swim in the clear waters of Chimehuín River. *The Lake District with its wetlands, steppes and forests provides ideal and varied habitats for an amazing variety and number of birds. In San Martín de los Andes there are 189 species. The National Parks close to Tipiliuke also provide a beautiful  blend of environments for birding.    *You may also take polo lessons from a professional. *Hiking or trekking over the property (48,000 acres) offer endless trails to walk along.Or, explore Mapuche´s sites -ancient tribes of this mystical land-. Other trails lead to a variety of vistas from which you can appreciate snowcapped mountains, changing colors of nature in spring and other Patagonian landscapes. One of the high points of the trek is finding the many springs and learning how the water emerges, turning  everything green around them. *Golf is available at Legendary Jack Nicklaus Chapelco Golf Club.  The 18-hole, par 72 course  delivers an experience that will thrill golfers of any skill level. It is located only 20 minutes from the lodge. * There is a Day Spa facing the Golf Course, with Jacuzzi, steam rooms, relaxing pool and scotch douche. The Namasthe Spa is also a 20 minute drive from the lodge.
