Accommodations

You will be based in Queenstown which offers a variety of options for accommodations and dining experiences. From elegant lodges to comfortable bed and breakfasts to modest hotels and motels. We can help you arrange the type of accommodations you prefer.

Fishing

Southern Trout offers guided day trips and overnight expeditions. They are custom tailored for the perfect trip, whether that means hiking through beautiful country to secret spots or flying by helicopter into fly fishing paradise. The season is from October through April on some of the 19 crystal clear lakes, rivers and streams. Nick will introduce you to some of the best and most remote of New Zealand fly fishing waters. You’ll have the supreme fly fishing experience – casting to fish that you have sighted and stalked with the skill of a hunter. You will have time to take-in and savor the beauty and drama of the environment while indulging in your favorite sport. You can be sure that upon your return to civilization as you know it, you’ll have lasting memories of a true wilderness experience. You can fish a different river each day from Queenstown and return each night, or you can stay out one or more nights in backcountry cabins (note: these are very basic and have no  electricity or hot water).

Getting There

Qantas and Air New Zealand both fly non-stop from Sydney Airport to Queenstown.
