Overview

Summary

Trout River Falls, a new uniquely developed trout fishing country estate will allow you to experience a touch of magic amongst the misty mountains of the Steenkampsberg in Mpumalanga with its beautiful surroundings, bird life and awe-inspiring waterfall.

There are 5 well-stocked natural feeding dams, and a 2km stretch of the Dorpsriver that offer excellent fly-fishing opportunities for young and old.

Fishing

An exceptional stretch of river and weir fishing is available providing a challenge to both beginners and experts. Rainbow and brown trout fishing is closely monitored with a limit of 3 rods per lodge allowed on the river at any one time. Only barbless fly fishing is permitted and all fish must be returned except for trophy fish (over 5 pounds). The average size caught is in excess of 2 pounds, 3- to 4-pounders are common and the record is over 8 pounds.

Accommodations

Trout River Falls provide four star luxury accommodation that include 8-2 bed chalets with on-suite bathrooms that are elegantly decorated to provide ultimate comfort and relaxation to our guests.
