Overview

On a private concession in Northern Tanzania, you will be offered some of the finest bird-shooting in all of Africa.  There are great numbers of both small and large species. This hunt is operated by the Hurt family who have both the education and experience to deliver a great hunt. The additional guides are excellent trackers and field naturalists who are all professional hunters with years of experience conducting hunts tailored to your needs and wants. No two safaris are planned the same way, be it Big Game Hunting, Bird Shooting, or Photographic Safaris.

Hunting

Bird shooting is a personal love of Robin Hurt’s; his enthusiasm and expertise, has led to providing some of the best bird shooting areas not only in Africa, but also in England and Spain. These shooting areas do not just have large numbers of birds, but have also been selected for some of the most challenging and exciting shooting available. A Tanzania Bird Shooting License permits a total bag of 50 birds per gun per day, in any combination of game species.

Accommodations

Camping with Hurt Safaris is almost as comfortable as staying in a first class hotel, with the added attraction of being the only guests! The camps are designed with the experience of over 45 years of African Safaris.  The sleeping tent is the size of a large bedroom with space for two adults. They are well ventilated, with mosquito proof windows and with a zipped door both at the front and rear. Each tent has its own veranda furnished with camp chairs and tables. It has two single beds, or a double bed if requested, with comfortable foam mattresses, cotton sheets and duvets. The Bathrooms are en-suite complete with shower and plenty of hot water. Electricity is provided to each tent, backed up by a solar inverter. Each camp has a generator for refrigerators and deep freezers. The generator can also be used to recharge camera equipment and batteries. You will need a converter for 240 volts down to 115 volts and adaptors to fit the standard UK three pin sockets.

Hungry?  Served in the Mess Tent, Breakfast includes Tea, Coffee, fresh juices and fruit, bacon, eggs, sausages etc. You will either enjoy a picnic lunch under the shade of an Acacia Tree or return to camp for a buffet lunch. Dinner is a three-course meal with soups/starters, a wholesome main course and delicious desserts. All meals are freshly prepared in Camp and cooked over hot coals. You may let the Camp know of preferences prior to your arrival. There is also a fully stocked Bar in the Mess so please help yourself. After all,

Laundry is done on a daily basis except on the days when you move camp. Just put clothes you would like washed in the laundry basket and they will be returned in the evening.
