Overview

Rancho Leonero is located on the East Cape of Southern Baja. It is nestled between the Sea of Cortez and the Laguna Mountains. Rancho Leonero offers a number of activities including fishing, boating, diving, and desert where coconut palms sway gracefully over miles of pristine beaches and rugged desert.

Accommodations

The hotel itself seems an extension of the Sea of Cortez, covering 700 acres of Ranch land including nearly two miles of unspoiled beach. Accommodations are very comfortable with hacienda-style elegance.  You may choose a standard or deluxe room, or free-standing ocean-view bungalow. The bungalows are set up so they give private accommodations for 1 or up to 3 – double or single occupancy.

Fishing

Experienced local guides with high quality boats are utilized by Rancho Leonero. These  offer access to excellent offshore fishing. Anglers fish from super pangas or super cruisers for black, blue, or striped marlin, sailfish, dorado, yellow-fin tuna, wahoo, grouper, snapper, roosterfish, and dozens of other local species. You may also enjoy surf fishing along the famous double reef just off the beach in front of the hotel. Different times of the year produce greater numbers of various species of fish.                                  For fly fishermen, we recommend Jeff DeBrown of Reel Baja, located in the East Cape. Jeff works closely with Rancho Leonero's guide staff and knows the waters of the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific waters around the Baja. His experience and knowledge are sure to improve your day on the water and hopefully your results!
