Canada is the "go bigger" destination. The rivers are wider, the wilderness is less-trafficked, and the species lineup runs from steelhead to Atlantic salmon to Dall sheep to trophy moose to smallmouth on the Saskatchewan shield. We book 22 experiences across five provinces plus Yukon and the Northwest Territories.
British Columbia steelhead on the Skeena system (Bulkley, Kispiox, Dean, Babine) is a serious fly-caster's bucket-list trip. September through early November is prime for chrome fish on the swing; fish can run over 20 pounds. Fly-outs into the upper Dean and remote tributaries give access to waters where rods per mile are near-zero.
Labrador and Québec host the continent's last great Atlantic salmon rivers — the Romaine, the Mingan, the Sand Hill, the Hunt. June through August is the window. Coastal Labrador brook trout are a world-class aside, with 5–8 pound native brookies common on camps like Three Rivers and Igloo Lake.
For hunting, Yukon and the NWT offer Dall sheep, Stone sheep, mountain goat, Canada moose, and grizzly — 10–14 day expeditions from a base camp with pack horses or Super Cubs. Saskatchewan produces some of the heaviest whitetails on the continent; Alberta hosts outstanding black bear and waterfowl. Newfoundland is the moose destination — 4,000+ outfitter-held tags a year, success rates over 85%.
Most trips connect through Vancouver (YVR), Calgary (YYC), Montréal (YUL), Halifax (YHZ), or Whitehorse (YXY). Expect a float plane leg to the remote camps. July–September is high season for nearly everything except steelhead and moose (October–November).
